I want to learn about Indian culture, says Yamamotoyama

MUMBAI: Former Japanese sumo wrestlerYamamotoyama, who will be appearing in the reality television show 'Big Boss' as a guest, says he was a little sceptical of the idea because of the language barrier but his interest in the Indian culture made him take up the offer. 

Yamamotoyama, known as Yama, will be entering the Bigg Boss house tomorrow. 

"I was little sceptical of taking up the show first... primarily due to the language issue, as I don't understand Hindi or English. But I was keen to learn about the Indian culture so much that I thought the show will be a good platform," Yama told PTI, speaking through an interpreter. 

At 601 pounds, he is the heaviest Japanese-born sumo wrestler ever. 

"I will have placards with pictures to communicate with the housemates. I am looking forward to it," he added. 

The show, hosted by Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, is in its last leg of finals, with six contestants - Amar Upadhay, Akashdeep Saigal, Siddharth Bhardwaj, Juhi Parmar, Mahek Chahal and Sunny Leone. 

When asked if he had heard of Salman, Sanjay or any of the contestants, he said, "I have heard about both but don't know much about them. I have seen the rushes of the show but I am not aware about the contestants. I had seen the fourth season of 'Bigg Boss'." 

Yama, however, knows 'Kolaveri Di', as the song has reached Japan too. And he knows Salman's 'Dabangg' steps. 

The 27-year-old wrestler made his professional debut in 2007, but in April this year, he was asked to retire byJapan Sumo Association after he was found to be involved in match fixing.

But Salman is also a guy with a golden heart. The amount of charity he does is probably unmatched in the industry. The best part is that he’s quite averse to his charitable actions being reported which is why he does them undercover mostly.

There are umpteen examples of Salman’s kind acts, where he has given bicycles to kids because he couldn’t bear to see a kid trudging uphill with a bag on his back. No Awards, Just Audience

Like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan has also given up accepting awards. He will not accept awards: whether the award is from the film industry or by outside agencies. Even government awards are a strict no-no for Salman. He will not be attending any award function either. People think that he’s in a race to bag awards. But what matters to him is audience’s love and their patronage for his films. Though his refusal to accept or attend award functions is quite recent, he’s going to stick by it, and no amount of cajoling is going to make him change his mind.

601-pound Japanese Sumo to enter house

If Bigg Boss 5′s multiple entries have surprised you time and again, this time round you’re sure to be flabbergasted beyond words. Proving to the audiences that Bigg Boss 5 can never get predictable, the show will witness the grand entry of 601-pound Japanese Sumo Wrestling Champion Yamamotoyama aka Yama in the final week of the show. Given his weight and clocking in at a height of 6’4″, Yama is not only the largest Sumo wrestler ever, but he is actually the largest Japanese human ever as well.

After having been cooped up inside the house for weeks, the contestants will definitely breathe a sigh of relief upon seeing a new face. However, this relief will be shortlived, especially when they realize that the newest entrant has one major drawback – he doesn’t speak or understand English! The multiple-title winning sumo wrestler will spend a few days in the house and bring some much-needed comic relief to the currently temperamental housemates. To accommodate the needs of Yama during his stay in the Bigg Boss house, special arrangements have been made inside the house for him.

The dining area will be converted into a bedroom-cum-eating area for the sumo wrestler to give him the enough space for carrying out his day-to-day activities. Being of Japanese origin, Yama is used to eating while being seated on the floor, but it will be interesting to note if the housemates will be able to accompany him while he eats his fill. Also, because the sumo wrestler faces a language barrier, he will be given special placards with pictoral representations that will help him to communicate his needs to the housemates. And finally, to ensure that Yama remains entertained, special activities have been planned during his stay in the house that will help audiences to get some special insights into the life of a professional Japanese sumo wrestler.

Despite of the ensured fun element that Yama will bring to the Bigg Boss house, how the housemates will react to this interesting new addition so close to the end of their Bigg Boss journey remains to be seen. Will they be kind towards Yama or will they just piss him off with their constant bickering?

Salman Khan's birthday with family

Salman Khan who was all set to celebrate his birthday in Dubai has had a slight change in plans. 

While the dabangg man will be in the UAE to bring in the New Year alongside his archrival Shah Rukh Khan, due to his family's concerns the actor will now celebrate his birthday in Panvel. 

A friend of the actor confirmed and added, "We are now going to Panvel on Monday to bring in Salman's birthday on Tuesday. After that, we will head to Dubai for New Year." 

"Health wise it wasn't a great year for Salman. So everybody feels that he should spend time with family on his birthday," added the friend. 

After spending his birthday with his family, Salman's New Year face off with Shah Rukh might also be easier. Both the Khans will be throwing their own party in Dubai. 

While Salman's guest list includes his parents, brothers, sisters and close friends Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Shirish Kunder, Shah Rukh's party will see Karan Johar, Anubhav Sinha, Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal.

Mahek Chahal, who got evicted from the " Bigg Boss" house earlier this month, is back. In conversation with DT, Mahek not only spoke about her fellow contestants accusing Salman Khan of promoting favouritism in the show, but also took digs at Akashdeep Saigal for using foul language and misbehaving with her.

"It would be unfair to say that I have been selected as the wild card entry because of Salman Khan. Yeh sarasar jhooth aur bakwaas hai. My supporters saw me being humiliated on the show. If I'm back, it is only because of them and not because of Salman," she says.

Now that the model-turned-actress has entered the house again, she wants to settle a score with all those who ill-treated her in the house. "There are certain issues which I want to clarify in the house. For instance, Sky maintains that he never abused anyone. Woh kehta hai ki usne logon ko gaali nahin di. But he hasn't only called me 'bhootni', but also bad-mouthed my family and most importantly, my father. Uska khud ka kya wajood hai? He is a liar, and that's why he cooked up stories about my past in the show," she replies.

So does she mean that what Sky said about Balbir and her was incorrect? "What he said about my past was a lie. Ek aurat ke upar usne kichadh uchhala hai. He wants to come across as an innocent guy on the show, which he isn't and that's what the viewers will get to see," she retorts, adding, "If I didn't discuss my past in the show, it was because I lost my father and niece a few years back. Post that, I met with a major accident due to which I had to be away from work. So, what could I have shared? Thankfully, I don't have to clarify anything to my family; they have faith in me."

According to Mahek, Juhi is not a genuine person. She says, "A few days back, Juhi said on TV that she gets nervous when someone screams in the house. Doesn't she remember she was the first contestant to get into a fight on the show? She was the first person to have yelled at a fellow contestant (Amar). Unhone toh iska udghatan kiya thaa. Has she forgotten everything?"

Sunny Leone faces ‘pornographic’ heat for Bigg Boss 5

India’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss is in controversy once again! The Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC), an independent body set up by the Indian Broadcasters Foundation (IBF) to promote self-regulation by Indian television media, has stated that the Indo-Canadian pornstar Sunny Leone has promoted her pornography business through Bigg Boss.

With just two weeks remaining for the grand finale of the show; taking up 19 complaints pertaining to Sunny Leone, BCCC is reported to have put Colors, one of IBF members, on notice for allowing cross-promotion of sexually explicit content by Sunny Leone, who, in turn, is making money out of her presence on Bigg Boss.

It has been reported in The Tribune that in a meeting yesterday, BCCC directed Colors to stop all cross-promotion of Leone’s pornographic sites and videos by December 26.

Wajahat Habibullah, chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities and a member of BCCC, said, “We all agreed that Sunny Leone has been using Bigg Boss on Colors to promote pornography which is classified as criminal activity in India. It may not be criminal in the United States where she comes from, but here, it happens to be so. Therefore, she can’t be allowed to use our television to promote her business. Colors has agreed to comply and report back on steps taken.”

Sunny’s interactions with Bigg Boss hosts Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt and Housemates including Juhi Parmar, Siddharth Sid Bhardwaj, Akashdeep Sky Saigal, Amar Upadhyay and guest Andrew Symonds have been widely speculated and discussed on the show.

“Sunny has been constantly playing mischief with Amar Upadhyay on Bigg Boss, falsely alleging that the family man has been ‘touchy-feely’ with her,” remarked Dale Bhagwagar, publicist for the television star, most famous for his role as the righteous Mihir Virani in the epic daily soap Kyonki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

A public relations specialist with Bigg Boss; Dale has earlier handled the media for the maximum number of celebrities on reality shows including Shilpa Shetty (during Big Brother), Rakhi Sawant, Kashmera Shah, Ashmit Patel, Sherlyn Chopra, Diana Hayden (Bigg Boss). He pointed out that “Brand Sunny Leone has enhanced itself multiple times since her appearance on Bigg Boss.”

Dale added that “her stint inside the Bigg Boss house has helped Sunny top Google charts with millions looking her up on the internet from India and abroad.”

“According to data collected from Google Trends, Sunny Leone’s search results are reported to be five times more than current teen sensation Katrina Kaif, twice as many as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and nine times more than the vivacious Kareena Kapoor. That says a lot for Sunny’s rising brand and popularity,” said the Bollywood PR.

Meanwhile, BCCC is reported to have said that anyone is free to appear on any show, but no one has the right to promote their business through it, especially so when the business happens to be illegal.

It was noted that Sunny Leone’s video postings, procured from Bigg Boss 5, are being cross-promoted on a blog authored by the pornstar. The report further states that Sunny’s Twitter account, having 86,000 followers, mentions that mobile applications of her hard porn products are available via email.

BIGG BOSS 5: Mahek Chahal reenters the house

It’s final. Mahek Chahal will reenter Bigg Boss 5 on a wild card. The starlet had been evicted on December 10, much to the surprise of viewers and her fellow housemate Siddharth Bhardwaj. It had been rumoured that Mahek was selected as one of the contestants on the behest of the show’s host Salman Khan and it was thanks to his support that she managed to stay in the house for as long as she did. However, after she got evicted, Mahek claimed to all and sundry that there was no favouritism going on. “It is not right to say that Salman has been favouring me. I share a very nice relationship with him but that doesn’t mean he is biased towards me,” she had claimed. With her reentry into the house, the buzz has started doing the rounds again. Maybe Salman did suggest she be chosen over the other possible – Lakshmi Tripathi and Shonali Nagrani – or maybe he did not. What we do know is that our readers are going to be very happy with Mahek’s return. We’ve received a whole lot of comments about how they wish Mahek was brought back. They called her gutsy, bold and beautiful, and said that she is the only one who showcased her true self on the show. Bigg Boss 5: Amar Upadhyay continues to play his double game!

Amar Upadhay is playing a very safe game inside the Bigg Boss house. But, at the same time, Amar ends up doing things which are not acceptable to the inmates. The women of the house feel he is very touchy making them uncomfortable. This discomfort was expressed by Shonali and now by Sunny.

Amar is also demeaning women in the house. He is alleged to have called women weaklings inside the house. Juhi came to know about the same and lost her cool and then, she went and confronted Amar about it. Amar heard the whole thing and denied making any such statements. Not only that Amar has been playing double games since forever, as he keeps tumbling between Siddharth and Akashdeep. Sometimes he is bitches about Siddharth and sometimes about Akashdeep.

This behaviour of Amar has started irritating all the inmates, resulting in a lot of chaos. Well, it's time for Amar to understand that people inside the house are smart enough to understand his strategies.

Bigg Boss 5: Day 81 ‘Wavering minds!’

Day 81: The day begins in the Bigg Boss house and Juhi, Sunny and Sky are seen giving each other a group hug and are happy to see each other around. 
 
After breakfast, Sky and Juhi are seen sitting in the garden area talking about Amar and his “wanna-be” nature. Soon, Amar joins the two and Sky turns the tables and tells Amar that he was just discussing him Juhi and was all praises about him. In a short while, all the five contestants are lounging out in the garden when Amar and Sky subtly start arguing carrying on with last night’s argument. Sky did not like the way Amar stole his thunder last night and started performing on his song wearing Sky’s clothes. Sky picked this up as an opportunity to pounce on Amar. Both have and argument for long on the topic, and soon Juhi and Sunny shift out of the scene. The two go to the washroom and are seen laughing out loud at the way Sky is unnecessarily putting up a fight for no reason. Soon, Sky joins the two women in the washroom and starts laughing too. Juhi tells the two that Sidharth is not getting any content in the entire fight and has been left out of the entire argument. 

 
Once Sky move out of scene, Amar and Sidharth get talking about how Sky has now overdone his stay in the house. Amar tells Sidharth that his jokes are completely nonsensical and that his time on the show has ended and that soon, it should be his turn to pack bags and go back.
 
As the day progresses, the entire house is seen getting into the task mood. Juhi and Sunny end up enacting a mock fight as they are in the task fervor. The two are then seen taking Sidharth and Amar’s case.  Juhi was taking Amar’s case on the topic of women being the weaklings because apparently a few days back Amar called Juhi a weakling. Sidharth asks Amar if he has ever called the women on the show weaklings to which 
 
Amar replies back with a staunch no. Amar says that he will never say any such thing to Juhi or to any other women in the house. He tells Sidharth that he will soon confront and clear the issue out with Juhi.
 
As the day progresses, Sunny, Sky and Juhi discuss about Amar and his touchy mannerisms. Sunny tells Sky that she does not like the way Amar was being touchy with the girls during the task. Sky replies back in affirmative saying there was no need of him to do so.
 
As the day ends, Juhi and Sunny are seen picking on the men again and enact the fight Sky and Amar have in the morning. The two hilariously take the center stage and repeat all that had been boiling between Amar and Sky by making every contestant in the house laugh.

Salman Khan arm-twisting again?

Actor Salman Khan’s entry on the sets of a reality show to apparently ‘threaten’ a contestant is snowballing into a bigger issue, especially after one of the contestants Pooja Bedi was threatened on Twitter by a few fans of Salman Khan. Sources say that the person in the middle of the controversy is again actor Mahek Chahal, rumoured to be a close friend of Salman Khan.

“Apparently Salman went into the house and told a contestant that he will kick his butt. That portion was probably edited out of the final cut. But the most curious thing is that a few days before Salman entered into the house, Mahek tweeted about a big surprise happening at the Bigg Boss house,” says a source.
Apparently, even though Mahek is out of the house at the moment, sources say that she is going into the house again on a wild card entry.

“That contestant is going into the house again and probably on a wild card entry. But we know that this time she is going back on Salman Khan’s insistence. Unfortunately, nobody is ready to speak on the matter. But we know it for sure that she is going back to the house,” the source added.

Pooja Bedi meanwhile has expressed shock on her twitter page that she was unceremoniously targeted by Salman’s fans this way.

Bigg Boss 5: Sky gives Pooja Mishra a love bite?

At a press conference, ex-Bigg Boss 5 participant Pooja Mishra revealed that Akashdeep Saigal aka Sky gave her a love bite on her neck while she was sleeping in the Bigg Boss house. 

At a press conference held yesterday, Pooja Mishra narrated an incident that occurred in the Bigg Boss 5house. Pooja said that on one of the days in the night, when she was sleeping after taking her medicines, someone sneaked into her bed and bit her on her neck. Pooja says that though she didn't see the person, she was sure that it was Sky. 

When asked why it couldn't be Siddharth Bhardwaj or Amar Upadhyay, Pooja said that while Siddharth was younger than her, Amar is already married! 

Ghosh! What logic! Pooja, please try harder to convince us! 

Well, this is not all. Pooja Mishra further added that the incident was not aired on Television. Though she apparently complained to the other Bigg Boss 5 participants, no action was taken. Pooja said, “A girl’s safety is of utmost importance. I don’t think I was safe in the house.”

Mahek Chahel is after Salman Khan: Pooja Misrra

The famous spitfire of Bigg Boss 5,Pooja Misrra held a press conference which she said was “to expose Salman Khan”, but refrained from making any direct allegation at the superstar. Rather, she took potshots at Mahek Chahalwho is expected to return to Big Boss house as a wildcard entry. 

“My eviction from the house on the grounds of me being violent was wrong and my second entry in Bigg Boss just proved that. Moreover, the wild card entry of Mahek into the house again is proof enough that there is favouritism happening in the house,” Pooja told reporters in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. 

From the start of Bigg Boss 5, Mahek Chahal is rumoured to be Salman Khan’s favourite on the show. She has worked with Salman in films like Wanted and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. 

When asked if Mahek Chahal has the backing of Salman Khan, Pooja Misrra said: “Mahek is definitely after him, I don't know whether Salman is or not. Every conversation of her would have Salman's name and because of this everyone in the house used to be scared of her. It was like everyone has to be good to her to survive the game.” 

Pooja feels the footage where Mahek is seen excessively talking about Salman in the Bigg Boss house has been done away with. “She hasn't been shown using his name persistently so I guess it is correct that the footage was edited,” she said. 

On whether she found any favouritism on the part of Salman Khan, she said, “He is the host of the show and he only says what he is made to by the crew. As far as his behaviour is concerned he has always been very kind to everybody.”

BIGG BOSS 5: Amar and Sky get into a fight!

There are arguments, introspection and laughter on Day 80 in the Bigg Boss 5 house

Juhi Parmar and Siddharth Bhardwaj start the day with an argument. Juhi tells Sid to not splash so much water on to the dance floor when he goes swimming, as it makes it difficult to dance on it, but Sid replies that he did not do it intentionally. Both of them argue for a while and then get back to their own tasks. Later, Sid meets Amar Upadhyay and they both discuss how Sky is very tense about the situation at the house. Sid tells Amar that Sky’s jokes poke fun at the housemates personal affairs, and it is not a good thing to laugh at them, as doing so will only encourage others to crack more such jokes. The two part ways and Amar goes to his room to do yoga. Sunny Leone finds his yogic postures funny. She makes faces, cuddles next to Juhi and both of them laugh at him.Later in the day, a new housemate enters for one day under the Ek Din Ka Boss plan. The five housemates are happy with this development.

In the evening, Sky thinks aloud that his chances of winning are very hazy. Juhi and Sunny tell Sky not to be so negative in front of the other men, but Sky doesn’t heed their advice. Meanwhile, Siddharth discusses with Amar how the atmosphere of the house has turned from fun and light to gloomy and silent now that only five contestants are left. The two talk about past events and mimic Shakti Kapoor and Lakshmi Tripathi.

Much later, Sky taunts Amar and he taunts him back. The two start arguing and even pass derogatory personal comments, but in the end, they laugh it off. The other three contestants enjoy the drama. Sid later goes to sleep while the other contestants perform their tasks. They make fun of Sid and his tendency to sleep.

No entry to Salman Khan’s Private bash In Hyderabad

High drama at the star's exclusive bash in Hyderabad after his bouncers turn away rival players of the Celebrity Cricket League

The grass may be greener on the other side. But when the other side is Salman Khan's territory, treading with caution is always advisable. And that's probably the lesson that some teams of theCelebrity Cricket League (CCL) had to learn, when they reportedly gate crashed a party that the actor co-hosted with his brother Sohail Khanat a five-star hotel in Hyderabad, on Monday night. 

A source close to the brothers who was with them informed Mumbai Mirror that the two, who were hosting a private party by the poolside with Sohail's team Mumbai Heroes, got into a brawl with the other uninvited team members of the CCL. 

The source explained, "The idea was to bring in Sohail's birthday and so members from his team Mumbai Heroes were invited. Just when the party was getting started and Salman was in high spirits, other team players, who were at the official CCL party, gate crashed. Sallu's party was rather happening. The drinks were flowing and the crowd was good, tempting the outsiders to join in the merriment." 

Salman, who is otherwise known for his generosity, however, was not too kicked about the intrusion. An eyewitness revealed that the other team players were denied entry, with the appointed bouncers doing their job rather well. "Some bouncers did not know who is who and pushed some of the team players away a bit too roughly. A notice that read: ' Only for Bollywood' was quickly posted outside the party venue," said the eyewitness. 

Since their attempts to join Sallu failed, the other players were reportedly upset with the way the situation was handled. And they decided to have their own little party, on the other end of the pool, claimed the eyewitness. 

However, Salman decided to put an end to the drama. "Sallu went over to the other side of the pool and apologised for turning them away. He also extended an official invite to the Mumbai Heroes party. But, some of the team players held their ground and refused to go back," added the eyewitness. 

Despite repeated attempts, Sohail and Salman remained unavailable for comment.

Salman Khan alters award show

Salman Khan, who performed at an award show last weekend, made last-minute alterations to the evening’s plan to squeeze in his performance. The actor was to dance to a medley of his songs after the event, which was to be inserted into the show before hitting the small screen. But Last Minute Te $6 Year Olddecided he would rather perform live. 

“Salman’s team had worked out the plan that his act would be recorded after everyone had left the venue,” says Anil Jha of Star Network, the broadcasters who will be airing the Big Star Entertainment Awards on New Year’s eve. “But after he walked the red carpet and spent some time, he sent his team to check if his performance could be turned into the concluding performance for the evening. We agreed.”

Salman’s act involved plenty of props including a huge guitar. Jha says, “It was a complicated setting and we didn’t want to mess it up. But we couldn’t say no to Salman. It didn’t disrupt the evening’s proceedings because we were supposed to end with the announcement of the top honours. Instead, we ended with Salman’s act, which had a countdown to bring in the New Year. When you watch it, it seems like a live event.”

Append itMany top stars don’t perform for the audience present at the venue. TV channels and event companies make arrangements to either record it pre-event or shoot it later. Recently, Ajay Devgn, who made his award-show debut with a dance act, recorded his performance before the event. It was added at an appropriate juncture for the TV audience.

Salman Khan is my driving force: Himesh Reshammiya

Composer-singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya credits actor Salman Khan, a godfather to many newcomers, for his success in the Hindi film industry.

"For me it's always been god, dad and Salman Khan. He (Salman) has been a driving force for me. I just want to thank him for his support. Thank you Salman bhai," said 38-year-old Himesh, whose music in the actor's "Bodyguard" was well-received by the audiences.

Himesh, who reportedly had a spat with Salman sometime back, minced no words while thanking the actor and his family for helping him at every stage of his decade-long career either a music director, singer or even as an actor.

"After this break of one-and-a-half years and with love and good wishes of Salman bhai, my first film "Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya" was possible because of the Khan family and now my 101st film "Bodyguard" also is getting me awards. It's all because of their love. In some way or the other Salman bhai has been the reason for my success," said Himesh.

After his success as a composer-singer, Himesh took up acting in films like "Aap Ka Suroor", "Karzzzz", "Kajraare" and "Damadamm". He is looking forward to more acting and music assignments.

"Now after this break I am all set to give music, and I will give music for a lot of films. I will produce quite a few films too and will also start with my acting spree. I have four films in hand.

"I'm creatively reloaded. I'm ready with eight to nine scripts, which I have compiled for production houses. As far as the music front is concerned, when I had come here at the age of 16, I came with 300 songs and today I am ready with 500 songs and have signed 250 artists for"it," he added.

Himesh is also set for some international projects, both, as a composer and as an actor.

"An international album in collaboration with Lil Wayne and Edward Maya is also ready. I have formulated 15 songs for it and the album is called 'The Edge'. DJ Edward Maya is doing my song and Roman White, who directs Justin Bieber's videos is directing our album too. I am also doing an international film 'A * Is Killed'," said Himesh.

For 2012, his hands are full with films like "Namastey London 2", "Dangerous Ishq", "Khiladi 786", "Shortcut Romeo" and "A New Love Ishtory".
